Kamote or sweet potato is a dense root vegetable which is full of antioxidants and can be eaten baked or fried as it is, or as an ingredient addition to any dish or simply made into a dessert.
The kamote con condensada dessert is one of our favorites, it is just boiled sweet potato and drizzled with condensed milk - simple yet extraordinary combination.
Just don't eat too much at a time, kamote are known to give you gas -- and you know what that means...
Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Sweet Potatoes (kamote)
1 small can Condensed Milk (168 ml)
2 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar (optional)
Procedures:
1. Peel the sweet potatoes or kamote and cut in desired sizes.
2. Boil in water for 20 minutes or until soft but still firm. Test using a fork.
3. Place in a serving plate and drizzle lightly with condensed milk.
4. Dust with powdered sugar on top (using a mesh strainer.)
