Adobong Atay Balunbalunan is a true Filipino dish. It is chicken liver and gizzard cooked in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and bay leaf.
Between the soft liver texture and the chewy, funky gizzard, this dish is not for everyone, especially if overcooked.
It is one of those dishes that you either have an acquired taste to it or you have a beer on the one hand to enjoy it.
1/2 kilo Chicken liver
1/2 kilo Chicken gizzard
1/2 cup Soy sauce
1/4 cup Vinegar
2 piece Bay leaf
1 teaspoon Peppercorn
1 liter Water
1 head Garlic, minced
1 piece medium Onion, chopped
5 pieces Boiled eggs
1. Combine all ingredients except the eggs.
2. Boil for 20–30 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
3. Add the boiled eggs.
